Pre-debut 

Sejak akhir 1990-an, agen bakat Korea dan label rekaman SM Entertainment telah mengadakan audisi tahunan untuk menemukan bakat-bakat baru yang melengkapi keberhasilan kelompok pop H.O.T, S.E.S, dan Shinhwa, yang semuanya diciptakan oleh pendiri SM, Soo-Man Lee, di pertengahan 1990-an. Leeteuk dan Eunhyuk adalah dua anggota pertama kelompok untuk direkrut pada tahun 2000 di bawah SM’s Starlight Casting System di Seoul.Pada tahun 2001, perusahaan pertama mereka di luar negeri mengadakan casting audisi dan menemukan Han Geng di Beijing, terpilih di antara tiga ribu pelamar. Pada tahun yang sama, Yesung ditemukan pada Seoul’s casting system bersama temanya, Heechul, Sungmin dan Donghae juga dipilih untuk menjadi trainee setelah penampilan mereka dalam sebuah kontes yang disponsori SM. Pada tahun 2002, Kang-In dan Kim Heechul direkrut bersama dengan Kibum, yang ditemukan di Los Angeles. 2005-2006: Proyek Super Junior

2006-2007: Terobosan Sukses

Pada 23 Mei 2006, SM Entertainment mengungkapkan ketiga belas anggota Kyuhyun, yang ditemukan melalui kompetisi menyanyi pada tahun 2005. Mereka merilis single “U” online untuk download gratis pada 25 Mei 2006 di website resmi mereka. “U” memiliki lebih dari 400 ribu download dalam waktu lima jam dan pada akhirnya rilis melebihi 1,7 juta download, menerjang server. Super Junior album resmi kedua ini dimaksudkan untuk akhir tahun 2006 rilis, namun karena kebetulan beberapa kemunduran, Jangan Don tidak dirilis hingga 20 September 2007. Dalam tiga hari pertama dirilis, penjualan album offline untuk Don Jangan melewati tanda 11.000 unit, memulai debutnya sebagai # 1 di semua tersedia offline grafik.
Didukung oleh pelepasan Don’t Don, Super Junior dinominasikan dalam tujuh kategori terpisah pada 2007 M.NET / KM Music Festival yang digelar di 17 November, 2007. Super Junior memenangi tiga kategori tersebut termasuk “Netizen Choice Award” dan “Mobile Popularitas”, menjadi pemenang terbesar malam. 2008- sampai saat ini: Luar Korea

Pada tanggal 2 Oktober 2007, SM Entertainment mengumumkan sub-unit ketiga Super Junior, Super Junior-M, sebuah subkelompok yang ditujukan untuk pasar Cina. PRE DEBUT
Pada awal tahun 2000, Park Jung-su adalah bakat scouted oleh agen di Myeongdong. Dia diminta untuk audisi untuk Starlight Casting System 2000, yang segera masuk dia ke SM Entertainment tahun yang sama. DEBUT

Ia adalah salah satu anggota boy band Super Junior. Ia memiliki nama panggilan “Heenim” (희님) yang diberikan oleh para penggemarnya dan juga media.
On August 10, 2006, Heechul was involved in a car accident while heading back to Seoul from Mokpo after attending the funeral of fellow Super Junior member Donghae’s father. The tires malfunctioned while his car attempted to switch lanes. Heechul fractured his left leg in five places, including his femur, knee, and ankle, requiring him to be in surgery for six hours. He also sustained other injuries, including a tear in his tongue which required stitches.
Heechul was advised to stop all activities for a period of twelve weeks. He was released from the hospital on September 13, 2006 but he continued to receive out-patient care. He returned to the hospital to have a second surgery to remove some of the iron rods in his leg on October 10 and briefly returned to work in late October to film the final three episodes of an MBC youth sitcom while still in a cast and on a wheelchair. He made his comeback on November 25 of the same year during the Mnet KM Music Festival (MKMF) Awards but it was only in late December that Heechul officially returned to individual activities such as variety show appearances and hosting appearances.
In 2007, Heechul started to perform regularly despite still having a few rods that the doctors had attached to his leg. In late April and May 2007, he had recovered enough to be able to take part in Super Junior’s strenuous dance routines. The remaining rods in his leg were removed in 2008.

Shindong was born in Mungyeong, North Gyeongsang on September 28, 1985.Having a love for dancing, Shindong signed up for the 2002 Goyangsi Youth Dance contest and won the grand prize. A year later, he joined the contest again and won gold. In 2004, Shindong joined the Mnet Epi Contest and won both the gold prize and popularity award. In 2005, Shindong signed up for the SM Best Youth Contest and won first place for Best Comedian, achieving the grand prize. Lee HyukJae (born April 4, 1986), better known by his stage name Eunhyuk, is a Korean dancer, rapper, presenter, song writer, and occasional actor. He is a part of the thirteen member South Korean boyband Super Junior. His position in the group is the lead rapper and one of the four lead dancers. To prevent confusion with famous Korean comedian Lee Hyeok-jae, he decided to use the stage name 'Eunhyuk', meaning "Silver Hyuk". Besides being part of Super Junior and Super Junior's sub-groups, Super Junior-T, Super Junior-Happy and recently, Super Junior-M, Eunhyuk has made a name for himself by appearing in numerous CFs, variety shows and music programs. Kyuhyun merupakan anggota yang paling terakhir bergabung dengan Super Junior sekaligus juga yang termuda (magnae). Kyuhyun termasuk salah satu lead vocalist di Super Junior.

Kyuhyun dikenal setelah menjadi juara 3 dalam kontes menyanyi Chin Chin Singin Competition pada tahun 2005. Ia dikontrak oleh SM Entertainment Korea dan bersama-sama dengan idola Chin Chin lainnya menyanyikan ulang lagu DBSK yang berjudul “Hi Ya Ya”. Sebelum ia bergabung menjadi anggota Super Junior, pada awalnya Super Junior adalah grup proyek yang anggotanya akan “lulus” setelah beberapa lama bergabung. Pada awalnya banyak fans yang kecewa dengan penambahan Kyuhyun ke dalam grup, namun dengan cepat ia diterima oleh fans sebagai member ke-13 dan terakhir dari Super junior.

Pada tanggal 19 April 2007 dini hari, 4 anggota Super Junior bersama 2 orang manager mengalami kecelakaan mobil yang mengakibatkan mereka harus dibawa ke rumah sakit. Kecelakaan serius tersebut terjadi ketika Kyuhyun, Leeteuk, Eunhyuk, dan Shindong kembali dari siaran Super Junior Kiss the Radio. Mobil mereka terbalik dan Kyuhyun, yang pada saat itu duduk di belakang kursi pengemudi, mengalami luka-luka yang paling parah. Kyuhyun mengalami patah tulang pinggul, juga patah tulang rusuk yang mengakibatkan pneumothorax, luka-luka di wajah, juga memar-memar. Ia tidak sadarkan diri karena terkejut. Ia berada di ICU selama 6 hari, sebelum kemudian dipindahkan ke ruang perawatan normal. Pada tanggal 5 Juli 2007, setelah 78 hari menjalani perawatan, Kyuhyun diperbolehkan keluar dari rumah sakit.
